Silly Stuff:
I took my mom and my kids to a Goodwill we don't normally go to. We got some really super deals. We also found these great wooden mustaches on sticks and snapped a few pictures of our awesomeness! (P.S. We didn't buy them)![]() |
Quinn, you look fabulous!! |

It might be time for Mitchell to start shaving!! |

Of everyone, I think the mustache looks the best on my mom!! Bwa-ha-ha!! |
Movies & TV:
Joe and I are WAY far behind, I know, but we started watching "The Walking Dead." We have binge watched the first 4 seasons and we love the crap out of it!! OMG! What an awesome show! I love movies/tv shows that deal with dystopian futures, Armageddon, or anything that tests the human spirit in a fantastical way. After we watch an episode, we have these long, interesting discussions about how we would react or deal with things that the characters are faced with. We love it.Shopping:
We went to "Trader Joe's." It was my first time going. I am not someone who puts too much emphasis on "all natural" or "organic" items, but I've heard some great things about a few of the products, so I wanted to check it out. Since it's a bit of a hike to get to one, we weren't too sure that it would be a place we'd go to too often. We bought a ton of stuff and I'm really hopeful that we'll like them enough to go back every now and again. Here is our loot:
We've already tried some things that were awesome! Especially that "Cookie Butter!!" Yum!! |
The Kids:
Quinn has a great imagination. She set up her chair, bumbo, books, etc., in such a way that she was in a "rocket ship" and she and Mitchell were "astronauts." They are fun kids to be around!!
Mitchell is the Co-Pilot. They both loved the crap out of navigating the Universe!! |
I Went To Another Penny Sale:
Another church in town had a penny sale and since I was, for all intents and purposes, skunked my last go round, along with the fact that spending money there is kind of charitable, I decided to give it another go.This time around, it was more of a family affair. My sister, her fiancé, and young daughter went and spent a good chunk of money on tickets. Her older daughter and her long term boyfriend also enjoyed spending some money, too. Plus my mom and I purchased a ton of tickets. Between us, we spent over $100 and we won a fairly decent amount of items, including a wooden rocking horse, candy dish, juicer, a hair dryer, board game, and the one thing on the list that I won:
Not the most ornate lamp, but I've been wanting one and it cost more than I spent, so that's good. |
You should've seen my mom, sister, and niece (the only people in our family to go to the drawing) walking out of there with our hoard. I guess people were quite impressed with their winnings!
Here's the lamp all set up in our living room:
Looks kind of boring, but I will like it when I want to snuggle up with a blanket to read! |
